Welcome to Rugby School's archives

The Archive collection comprises several thousand items, mainly documents, photographs and prints relating the history of the school, and materials by and about Rugbeians, both pupils and staff.

Documents include;
Printed and hand-written registers, School lists, photograph albums, account books, committee minute-books, maps and plans, postcards, prints, school magazines, Drama and Music programmes, correspondence and other original papers, school reports, school bills, examination papers, House records, and published books and other papers by and about Rugbeians.

There are also numerous objects, ranging from sporting memorabilia, to school caps.

The Archives are available to the school community, and by appointment to the wider public. We are always happy to add relevant items or information to the collection, which may enrich the understanding of the school’s history, and would welcome contact from you..

Rugby School Archives Online

A long-term project to provide online access to some of the archive collection has begun with the publication of materials to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, the School Register 1675-1921 and, most recently, the full run of Meteor (the School magazine) 1867-present.
